Portia Thompson was born and raised in Floyd County and graduated from the local high school. She is excited about opening up a pharmacy in her home community. For the past two years, she has been managing pharmacies in Texas. She started working at  Floyd Pharmacy when she was young and then went on to work at Valley Apothecary Pharmacy in Salem, VA where her true passion for pharmacy began. 

After graduating from Floyd County High School in 2001, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2009. She then earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from The University of Incarnate Word, Feik School Pharmacy in San Antonio, Texas in 2014. She and her husband Jason now have three daughters.

Portia has experience in compounding, immunizations, and medication therapy management services. Portia is very passionate about her career and looks forward to assisting you with all your pharmacy needs. The Pharm House is dedicated to providing exceptional pharmacy services to its local community.
